Yesterday I was looking around the villa and realized that I could pack up and leave here for good in about 30 minutes. Heck maybe even in less time if I were in a hurry.
Fortunately I won’t be in a hurry when I do finally leave here.
Being able to pack in 30 minutes or less will give me more time to say good-bye to the people who have made a major impact on my life during my LONG time away from home.
These people made it easier for me to be so far away from home because their presence made me feel as if I were home.
Some of these people are visiting Corfu this week. Some of them were here during this previous summer. The rest live in Corfu.
Good times spent with good friends these last nine years. These are the memories I will cherish forever.
There were times over these last few years that weren’t exactly a bed of roses but my friends made me forget all about those thorny issues by helping me keep my eyes focused on what I needed to do and more importantly where I needed to go.
I’m been very lucky and I know it.
Some have been asking me what’s up with all the postings I’ve been making.
Some ask “Are you leaving?”
The answer to that question is simple. I’m reading “On the Road” by Jack Kerouac and I only read this book during certain periods of my life.
